Volunteers are the heart of FirstLook. Last year volunteers gave over 11,000 hours to the mission of FirstLook. Volunteers are always needed in both the clinic and the two thrift stores.
Each woman who comes to FirstLook is escorted by a volunteer client coordinator through her entire visit at FirstLook. The coordinator is that woman’s “go-to” person during her time with FirstLook. Coordinators interview each person, listening to her needs and concerns, guiding her to explore her options honestly, helping her envision a hopeful future, and empowering her to make informed decisions, decisions that the team prays will be life-affirming. With the help of the coordinator each client lays out a Care Path with her needs and goals for her future. Together, they determine how FirstLook can help to provide the resources, education, and encouragement to meet those needs and goals. Our volunteers make FirstLook a safe, compassionate and helpful place for those we serve.
